Instrument Rentals and Purchases
Having a good quality and well set up instrument is very important, it makes playing much easier and more enjoyable. I work with a number of string shops both in and outside of Austin depending on the students needs.
Outside of Austin: these two shops have a very wide selection of instruments, ranging from the beginner to a full range of educational models and beyond into professional level instruments. They are very knowledgeable and will ship instruments and bows directly to you.

They have another location in San Antonio that they share inventory with and can bring things up from there are well. If you are in need of an instrument adjustment, repair or bow repair they have an excellent in house luthier that I recommend.

For sheet music and accessories I encourage you to shop online at www.sharmusic.com or Amazon. Out of the in town stores listed above, Blackerby Violins maintains an extensive sheet music selection and will happily order you anything that you need.
Beginner-intermediate level books include: Suzuki 1-4, Solos for Young Violists (Violinists), Essential Elements and Sound Innovations, Wohlfahrt Etude Books 1 & 2, Schradieck book 1
Advanced students will require etude books and sheet music that includes piano scores. We will select music from a repertoire list based on student’s goals.
